The Spirit of the UN Died in Gaza, Erdogan

"No state is safe unless Israel accepts international law and considers itself bound by it," declared Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday in a powerful speech at the Turkish Parliament.

President Erdoğan further said, "O American state, your hands are also stained with blood. O European heads of state and government, you have become complicit in Israel's vampire act as you have remained silent."

"A lawless Israel poses a threat not only to Palestine or Gaza but to global peace and humanity as a whole," he asserted, condemning Israel's brutal attack on a refugee camp in Rafah, southern Gaza, on Sunday. This assault, which killed at least 45 people, ignited fires that rapidly spread through tents and makeshift accommodations, wreaking further havoc and misery. Erdogan's words underscored the urgent need for international accountability and the dire consequences of unchecked aggression.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan fiercely criticized the United Nations and urged the "Islamic world" to react to the latest deadly Israeli strikes in Gaza.

"The UN cannot even protect its own staff. What are you waiting for to act? The spirit of the United Nations is dead in Gaza," Erdogan declared to lawmakers from his AKP party.

His remarks came as the UN Security Council convened to discuss a deadly Israeli attack on a displacement camp west of Rafah, which killed 21 people, according to a civil defense official in Hamas-run Gaza.

Erdogan also chastised fellow Muslim-majority countries for their inaction over the Israeli strike.

"I have some words to say to the Islamic world: what are you waiting for to take a common decision?" Erdogan, who leads a nation of 85 million Muslims, implored his party's lawmakers.

"Israel is not just a threat to Gaza but to all of humanity," he asserted.

"No state is safe as long as Israel does not follow international law and does not feel bound by international law," Erdogan added, reiterating his accusation that Israel is committing "genocide" in Gaza.
