While speaking at the Islamabad Policy Research Institute (IPRI), the Founder & Chairman of the Global Peace Summit, Shaikh Mahmud, urged the international community to respond to the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza with immediate, unified action. With the death toll surpassing 41,000 Palestinians, including over 17,000 children, the Chairman stressed that such crises must be treated as global emergencies, requiring urgent and cooperative international responses.
“The ongoing tragedy in Gaza is not just a regional conflict—it is a humanitarian catastrophe that demands the world’s collective attention,” the Chairman remarked. “We must create a global system where a humanitarian emergency anywhere is felt as a universal call to action. Only through enhanced cooperation on international law and a commitment to social justice can we achieve this.”
The Chairman’s call comes as Gaza endures unprecedented levels of violence, with the overwhelming loss of life underscoring the global need for shared responsibility and immediate intervention. He emphasized that the crisis should not be viewed through the narrow lens of geopolitics but as a fundamental violation of human rights that concerns the entire world.
“Every life lost in Gaza is a reminder of the global community’s moral obligation to act,” the Chairman stated. “The failure to protect civilians and ensure their safety reflects the absence of a cooperative global framework that prioritizes humanitarian concerns over political interests.”
The Founder of the Global Peace Summit highlighted the urgent need for reform in how the international community addresses such crises, advocating for stronger adherence to international law and the principles of social justice. He argued that only by establishing a system of global solidarity and justice can tragedies like the one in Gaza be prevented in the future.
“The international community must unite in the pursuit of peace and justice, transcending political divides to protect the most vulnerable,” he concluded. “This crisis is a stark reminder of our shared human responsibility.”
